Beauty Review: Lacura Liquid Highlighter Sold at Aldi
Have you ever found yourself wandering through make-up aisles and seeing bright, glittery options and wondering who in the world would wear something like that?
It’s me. I would wear that.
So, I was so excited to see liquid highlighters in fun colors at my local Aldi and couldn’t resist getting two to test out.
About Lacura Liquid Highlighter
I hate to admit it, but I do find myself falling for cute packaging.
The Lacura Liquid Highlighter comes in small tubes with a pretty mix of pink and gold accents, which immediately caught my eye.
I had a hard time deciding which one to get, so I ended up picking two colors: Radiant Rose and Champagne Shimmer. (I think there was also an Orchid Pink that I didn’t buy.) I figured one would look more like blush and one would look more glow-y.

According to their boxes, the highlighter is “a silky-smooth, lightweight liquid highlighter formula that provides a soft, illuminated finish.”
Using the highlighter is simple. The box suggests applying the product to “high points of the face” and then blending. I thought it was interesting the box had an additional “pro tip” of using it with the Lacura Liquid Blush. Sadly, I’ve never seen the Lacura Liquid Blushes during my trips to Aldi. Maybe in the future!
My Experience Using the Lacura Liquid Highlighter
My go-to highlighter (Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Trophy Wife) is more of a powder (and a major splurge), so this was my first experience using a liquid highlighter.
However, I found it easy to use and apply. Rather than being completely liquid and using a droplet-style applicator, this is more of a cream. So, I used the highlighter brush to apply some small dots on my cheekbones and then blended it with my fingers. It gives a nice shimmer-y finish.

As I said earlier, I tend to like more vibrant, glittery make-up, so I quickly moved from small dots to large dots for a more dramatic effect. But in general, I do find this to be more of subtle highlighter if that’s more your style.
I usually apply this after my moisturizer and tinted sunscreen for a nice glow.
Final Thoughts on the the Lacura Liquid Highlighter
Would I buy it again? Yes! I feel like it’s a high quality product for a budget-friendly price. If I recall correctly, it was around $5 per highlighter.
Personally, I tend to gravitate toward more vibrant colors, but it’s nice to have more subtle colors in the mix for work/professional events.
