Why I’m completely obsessed with breathwork meditation
In the span of a 10-minute video, I went from being able to hold my breath for only 20 seconds to being able to hold it a full minute. It’s why I’m now completely obsessed with the idea of breathwork meditation.
Why I’m trying breathwork meditation
I’ve long been resistant to trying meditation but with stress and anxiety building up more than usual due to current events, I felt like I finally needed to give it a try. While there’s all different kinds of meditation, I felt like for me, personally, that breathwork would be a good option as it would force me to actively focus on my breath instead of on trying to clear my mind. (The idea of trying to clear my mind seems impossible- especially right now!)
My favorite breathwork meditation video (at least so far!)
So, when I came across the Guided Wim Hof Method Breathing video on YouTube, I gave it a go. (I will say he has a safety video he recommends watching first)
I struggled to keep up with the pace of the breathing in and out, so it required all of my concentration to keep up. But, I found that helpful in making me forget about the outside world for a while.
Did you give it a try?
I would love to hear other people’s experiences with this and any other free video recommendations. I really want to try one that’s a little on the calmer side of things.
Looking for other ways to relax? I am absolutely LOVING at-home facial massages.
