Let me just start off this post by saying, I’ve never really been that big into Valentine’s Day. I enjoy a pack of candy hearts, but I’m not really into gift giving for this holiday. My love language definitely tends to lean more toward quality time so that’s where I put my focus.
To help encourage myself to read more and remember what I’ve read, I’m starting a new monthly post. Each month I’ll share what I read and my honest thoughts about it.
First up, ‘A Gentleman in Moscow’ by Amor Towles.
So, just like everyone else in the world, after watching ‘The Witcher’ on Netflix, I am totally obsessed and need to know what happens next.
As someone that dreams of writing a book (or several), I always seem to find myself coming up with excuses for why I can’t write or why what I’ve written isn’t good enough. But, in the past year, I found myself overcoming at least some of these hurdles and managed to get down 23,000 words on a novel I’m working on. Some of that was just sitting in a chair and putting in the work, but I believe a big part was finding the right inspiration.
Fair warning, I’m a huge Aldi fan. So, after passing the Lacura skin care products countless times, curiosity finally got the better of me and I had to try them out for myself.
I like to work out at home. I don’t like paying for a gym membership. This is where YouTube really saves the day. With many people making fitness-related New Year’s resolutions (myself included), I wanted to share some of my absolute favorite at home, no-equipment workout videos.
I love to talk about books– what I’m reading, what I want to read, and so on. But I have this problem, that when someone asks what I’ve been reading lately or my favorite genres, I draw a complete blank.
I hate all the hate about New Year’s resolutions. There’s a giant cloud of pessimism surrounding the process, like somehow trying to improve yourself or improve your life is a bad thing or a big waste of time. I think all the people hating on your big plans are just scared you might succeed.
